CUET-UG Results Declared: A Record-breaking 22,000 Candidates Achieve 100 Percentile

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency announced the results of the CUET-UG (Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate) on Saturday. The outcome revealed that more than 22,000 candidates achieved a perfect 100 percentile score. The highest number of top scorers were in English, with Biology and Economics following closely behind.
A staggering 1.11 million candidates had taken part in the second edition of the entrance examination.
According to Sadhana Parashar, the Senior Director of the National Testing Agency (NTA), the performance of each candidate in the CUET-UG exam was assessed using the equi-percentile method. This method involved calculating the normalized marks for every candidate based on the percentiles of their respective groups in the same subject across multiple days.
In terms of specific subjects, 5,685 candidates achieved a perfect 100 percentile score in English, followed by 4,850 candidates in Biology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry, and 2,836 candidates in Economics.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has various responsibilities including candidate registration, conducting the CUET-UG test, releasing answer keys, addressing challenges, finalizing answer keys, preparing and announcing results, as well as providing scorecards.
Sadhana Parashar also mentioned that participating universities and organizations will create a merit list based on the CUET (UG) - 2023 scorecards provided by the NTA. The universities will then make decisions regarding individual counseling processes.
The CUET-UG ranks as the second-largest entrance examination in the country based on the volume of applicants. During its initial edition, approximately 12.5 lakh students had registered for the exam, out of which 9.9 lakh successfully submitted their applications.
