AAP says Congress joining ordinance fight is a positive step

New Delhi Latest Updates: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has welcomed the Congress' strong opposition to the Centre's ordinance regarding administrative services in Delhi, considering it a positive development. However, the AAP has not confirmed whether it will participate in a meeting of various opposition parties in Bengaluru, starting on Monday. Previously, the AAP had stated that it would attend the meeting only if the Congress provided support in opposing the Delhi ordinance in Parliament.

Congress general secretary KC Venugopal confirmed that the AAP is expected to join the meeting. He also reiterated that the Congress remains resolute in its stance against the ordinance on control of services in Delhi, expressing their unwillingness to support it.

In response, Congress general secretary Mr. Venugopal expressed hope that the AAP would now join the upcoming meeting of opposition parties in Bengaluru, as the Congress has clarified its stance on the Delhi ordinance issue. During their initial meeting in Patna, the opposition parties reached a resolution to unite against the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, aiming to present a strong and collective front.
