In their efforts to address Tibetan issues, Chinese authorities have expressed their desire to establish contact with him, to which he has responded positively, stating his readiness for communication.

In a press interaction held in Dharamshala, prior to his visit to Delhi and Ladakh, the Tibetan spiritual leader conveyed that he and his followers have chosen not to pursue independence but instead to maintain their association with the People's Republic of China. The Dalai Lama acknowledged the evolving situation in China and the increasing interest from Chinese officials, both in official and unofficial capacities, to establish communication with him.

To celebrate his 88th birthday, the Dalai Lama made a visit to the Main Tibetan Temple courtyard in Dharamshala. During this visit, he reaffirmed his dedication to promoting the well-being of all living beings. He emphasized his unwavering commitment to the cause of Tibet, demonstrating a strong sense of hope and determination.
