New Delhi: AAP leader Manish Sisodia's bail request was denied by the Delhi High Court today in a case related to alleged irregularities in the now-defunct Delhi excise policy. The court stated that Mr. Sisodia is not eligible for bail at this stage.

In addition to Manish Sisodia, the high court also rejected the bail pleas of Abhishek Boinpally, Benoy Babu, and Vijay Nair, who are co-accused in the money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the agency responsible for investigating financial crimes.

Manish Sisodia was initially arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26, more than six months after the FIR was filed. Following an extensive interrogation at Tihar Jail, Manish Sisodia was arrested by the ED on March 9 in connection with the same case.

The AAP government implemented the Delhi excise policy in November 2021, but it was canceled in September of the previous year due to corruption allegations.

Manish Sisodia is facing charges in cases filed by both the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate related to this matter.
