Chandigarh – Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij is working tirelessly to handle the situation arising due to floods in Ambala and providing all support and cooperation to those affected by the floods.

Sh. Anil Vij today interacted with the industrialists of Ambala Cantonment Industrial Area and assured them that he stood shoulder to shoulder with them in this challenging time.

In response to the industrialists' demand for additional time in filing the GST return, he assured that the matter would be resolved soon.

Earlier, the industrialists informed the Home Minister Sh. Anil Vij that the entire industry area has been affected due to the floods and their documents and other records have been destroyed. They are trying to bring the industry back on track after the water receded. The industrialists apprised the Minister that they are concerned about meeting the deadline for submitting their GST returns as delay in submitting the return could result in penalties. Considering this situation, they should be granted additional time for filing their GST return.

During the interaction with the industrialists, Sh Anil Vij directed the officials of the Public Health Engineer Department to carry out work for cleaning the sewerage in the Industrial Area at Ambala Cantonment.  He also directed the Municipal Council to launch a cleanliness drive in the industrial area.

He said that in order to resolve the problem of water logging in areas adjacent to river Tangri, the depth of the river bed would be further increased. It may be recalled that Sh Vij has already written a letter to the Chief Minister, urging the construction of a concrete embankment on the other side of the Tangri river.

On this occasion, SDM Ambala Cantonment and Administrator Municipal Council Satendra Siwach, DSP Cantt Ashish Chowdhary, President, Industrial Area Ambala Cantonment Dayalchand Gupta and various industrialists were also present.
