Haryana to organize Meri Maati Mera Desh, Veeron Ka Vandan programmes in August

Celebrate Haryana's pride with Meri Maati Mera Desh & Veeron Ka Vandan in August - a tribute to valor and love for the land! 

Chandigarh : Haryana Government will organize the Meri Maati Mera Desh and Veeron Ka Vandan programs in both rural and urban areas of the state during the month of August as part of the closing ceremony of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The state-level closing ceremony of the Mahotsav is scheduled to take place between August 16 and 25.

The Chief Secretary, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal said this after attending a virtual meeting organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs, to discuss the programmes to be organised as part of the closing ceremony.

The Meri Maati Mera Desh programs will be organized in both rural and urban areas. One of the key highlights of the campaign will be the installation of Silaphalakam, a memorial plaques in panchayats to pay tribute to the bravehearts, including freedom fighters, defense and police personnel and central armed police forces personnel, who have made the supreme sacrifice.

The programme also includes the Panch Pran oath and Selfie, where villagers will take a pledge to contribute to nation-building and capture a selfie to mark the occasion. Each village will also plant 75 saplings of long-lasting trees to replenish Mother Earth.

The programme will also pay homage to living and deceased freedom fighters, defense personnel, and personnel of Central Armed Police Forces and State police. The "Vasudha Vandan" programme will promote unity and inclusivity, emphasizing the importance of a harmonious society.

Mr. Kaushal said that the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign will be a remarkable event with extensive programme planned for municipal councils and municipal corporations. The campaign will feature symbolic elements such as soil and earthen lamps, along with the solemn Panch Pran oath programme.

Mr. Kaushal emphasized the vital role of public participation in ensuring the success of these programs. The events will focus on women and children, water conservation, environmental sustainability, health and wellness, inclusive development, and fostering a self-reliant state. These programs are designed to unite people from all walks of life, promoting a sense of unity and inclusivity throughout the nation.

On this occasion Additional Chief Secretary, Development and Panchayats Department, Mr. Anil Malik, Commissioner and Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Mr. Vikas Gupta, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Director General Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal and other senior officers were present.
