Shocking crime in Rajasthan: Woman kidnapped from home, bullet marks on dead body

Jaipur Latest Updates: Political tension has arisen in Rajasthan's Karauli after the abduction of a young woman from a scheduled caste and the subsequent discovery of her body with a gunshot wound. Both the Bharatiya Janata Party and Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party have accused the Ashok Gehlot government of failing to maintain law and order in the state, particularly as elections approach. In protest, the BJP has organized a sit-in outside the hospital where the victim's body is being kept. The incident was also raised in the Rajasthan Assembly, with Opposition members demanding a government response. The 19-year-old woman was reportedly abducted from her home by four individuals on July 12, and her body was later found in a well.

A woman's mother has accused the police of negligence in handling her daughter's case. According to her, a group of individuals forcibly took her daughter away in the early hours of the morning while they were asleep. When they approached the police station to file a complaint, they were turned away and discouraged from pursuing the matter further.

The police have detained one person so far and are actively searching for the others involved. They have initiated an investigation based on the filed FIR and have spoken to the victim's mother to gather more information. The senior police officer mentioned that leads have been obtained but no specific names have been provided yet.

BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Kirodi Lal Meena, leading the protest alongside the victim's family members, is demanding strict action against the culprits and compensation for the victim's family. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje expressed concern over the incident, urging a thorough investigation and severe punishment for those responsible. Congress leader Sachin Pilot also called for a comprehensive investigation and emphasized the need for justice to be served.

The police have conducted a post-mortem examination, indicating that the cause of death appears to be a gunshot. While it has not been confirmed if the girl was raped, forensic experts will provide clarification after further examination.

The police are currently in discussions with the victim's family regarding compensation and other demands.
