Ezekiel Elliott, a former top pick at No. 4, is still without a contract as a free agent with less than a month left until the NFL regular season kicks off.
Former NFL general manager Michael Lombardi predicts that Elliott, along with Dalvin Cook, will eventually sign with new teams. He estimates these signings to take place roughly two weeks prior to the start of the season.
Lombardi suggests that both players probably have specific teams in mind and might be waiting until the conclusion of training camp before making their decisions.
With the 2023 NFL regular season just four weeks away, Elliott's anticipated signing aligns with a timeframe of approximately two weeks from now.
Currently, it's been reported that the New England Patriots are the only team that Elliott has visited.
Interestingly, the Dallas Cowboys, who released Elliott due to salary cap constraints, are apparently considering the possibility of bringing him back into the fold.
Elliott's impressive NFL career statistics include 8,262 rushing yards, 68 touchdowns, 1,881 carries, 305 receptions, 2,336 receiving yards, and 12 receiving touchdowns.
